I and You by Lauren Gunderson
I actually rather enjoyed this sweet little teen romance (even with the not-so-subtle educational theme, Yay, Walt Whitman!), until it tried to become something deeper. Spoiler alert: the boy is dead and the girl is dreaming/hallucinating while receiving his liver. Maybe it is my utter lack of spirituality, but this ending just irked me. It is the trite ending of βand then she woke up,β attempting to impose existential import on an otherwise well-executed romantic dramedy in the vein of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.
